Ice cream Con Medrano….since 1938!
Corner of Angel Flores and 5 de Mayo
Mazatlan
The yummy homemade ice-cream sold
on the corner of Angel Flores and 5 de Mayo is one of my favorite things
in all of Mazatlan. They have been on this corner since 1938, which
gives them more history than the hardware store that shares their corner!
You’ll always find 6 flavors of tasty homemade ice-cream and cones
(which make all the difference) in their cart, and at 10 pesos a cone,
you can’t say no. Cones, and cups, and
tubs available!
Nieves Con Medrano also will come to
serve their ice cream at your private fiesta, wedding, or birthday bash.
Here is a list of flavors that
you might find.
Guayaba** Prune** Vanilla** Peanut**Maricuya** Coconut ** Yaka**
Strawberry** Pineapple** Nanche** Bitaya** Avocado** Chocolate** Banana**
Carrot** Apple** Oatmeal** Burnt Milk** Yerba Buena** Cilantro** Pear**Cheese**
Chongos zamoranos** Carmel** Arayan** Lime** Grapefruit** Orange** Higo**
Kiwi** Guava** Bubble Gum
Lots of these are tropical fruits that I am not sure of
the translations….they will let you try anything before making
up your mind….
Just hanging around savoring your ice cream you’ll
see why they’ve been in business for so long. The owner tells
me they’ve sent ice cream home with visitors to Mazatlan places
like Alaska, Chile, Spain, and the list goes on.
